Duza Lyzka: Branding & Print assets for a Polish Soup Restaurant
Duza Lyzka is a hypothetical restaurant serving traditional Polish food in a very contemporary environment. For this self-authored project, I drew inspiration from Polish visual culture from multiple times throughout the country’s history. I wanted to contrast the dark and heavy food with a light and airy atmosphere, and have all the collateral show that as well.
The menu is a two color job printed on BFK drawing paper, French folded, and bound with a Singer Stitch with coordinating thread. The mini accenting stitches were embroidered, photographed, and printed to make production more practical. The end result is an incredibly tactile book with the end threads left long to allow customers to mark the page of their choice.
The business collateral uses typography similar to the menus, but with a slight variation. All of the collateral will be printed in solid Pantones, readying them for personal laser printing. It is intended that the envelopes be hand-addressed to maintain a casual feeling. Also included is pieces to be sent outside of the restaurant.
