Akrylic Subscription: Ecommerce Site & Branding
This group project was where I learned to code, HTML, CSS, and jQuery; I was responsible for the logo design and wireframes of the site, as well as coding the individual item pages and the main frame. I also acted as photographer for our clothing shoots. The concept was a collaborative effort and was our first time learning and using jQuery.
Akrylic is an online fashion store with a user experience based on colour. When shopping, many people are attracted to items by colour, then by size availability, and finally make the decision to purchase an item based on cut and fit. Users are encouraged to shop by colour through the layout of the navigation, but a secondary navigation has been included.
A thin line of colour at the top of the page is tagged to coordinate with the colour of the clothing articles selected, and changes with each page. Hovering over a single object allows the user to see basic details of a product. After choosing a product, the user is can look at multiple views, get more details, select a size, and add the item to their shopping bag to purchase it.
